Remove the meeting assistant from a call

Stop the meeting assistant from joining, or remove it from a call that already started, in Microsoft Teams and Google Meet

Sometimes a customer prefers not to have the meeting assistant in the call. This article shows how to keep it out before the meeting, and how to remove it once the meeting has started.

Before the meeting: switch it off in uman

This is the easiest way, and it works for every meeting tool.

  1. Open Sales meetings in uman (or find the meeting on your Home page).

  2. On the meeting card, switch off Meeting assistant will join. The card now shows Meeting assistant off.

The assistant will not join that meeting. You can switch it back on any time before the meeting starts.

Don't see the switch? It appears on the card once the meeting preparation is ready, and it only works when the meeting has a meeting link.

Good to know: once the meeting has started, you can no longer switch the assistant off in uman. Remove it from the call instead, as explained below.

Prefer to choose per meeting? Go to Settings > Personal > Meeting assistant and set Meeting join behavior to On request. The assistant then only joins the meetings where you switch it on.

During the meeting: Microsoft Teams

The meeting organiser, co-organisers and presenters can remove the assistant.

  1. In the meeting, click People in the top bar.

  2. In the Participants pane, find the meeting assistant under In this meeting.

  3. Hover over its name and click More options (the three dots).

  4. Click Remove from meeting.

Don't see Remove from meeting? Only the organiser, co-organisers and presenters get this option. Ask one of them to remove the assistant. If you are the organiser and still don't see it, send us a screenshot of the menu through the chat and we'll look into it with you.

During the meeting: Google Meet

The host and co-hosts can remove the assistant.

  1. In the meeting, click People at the top right (the icon with the number of participants).

  2. In the People panel, find the meeting assistant under In the meeting.

  3. Click More options (the three dots) next to its name.

  4. Click Remove from the call.

Muting is not enough

Muting the meeting assistant does not stop it from recording. To stop the recording, remove it from the call.
