Configure outreach messages and campaigns

Set up your outreach messages and campaigns under Settings.

💡 Anyone with a Sales license can build their own personal campaigns. Creating or editing campaigns shared with the whole workspace needs the Sales Admin role.

Good outreach needs the right mix of structure and flexibility. In uman you get that with campaigns and outreach assets. Below we explain what they are and how to set them up.

🌟 What are campaigns and outreach assets?

Outreach assets are the building blocks of your outreach: the messages uman drafts for you, such as emails, LinkedIn messages, and call scripts. Each asset is a reusable template with its own prompt, so uman knows how to write it.

A campaign is a scheduled set of steps that guides your outreach to a contact over time. Each step is an outreach asset with its own timing, so your follow-up stays consistent and repeatable. When you reach out to a contact, uman enrolls them in a campaign and prepares each step for you.

🚀 Where to set up campaigns

Go to SettingsOutreachCampaigns. The Your outreach campaigns page lists every campaign, and for each one shows its Visibility (Workspace or Personal), Status, number of Steps, how many contacts are Enrolled, active Contacts, Meetings booked, and Last activity.

A default campaign comes ready and active, so you can start straight away. You can use it as is, duplicate it, or create your own.

🧩 Inside a campaign

Open a campaign to see how it is built:

  • Campaign steps: the ordered messages, each set to go out on a given day (for example an email on day 1, a LinkedIn message on day 2, a call script on day 4). The default campaign includes the three common types: an outbound email, a LinkedIn message, and a call script.

  • Content: one-off assets uman generates for each contact, on top of the scheduled steps.

The panel also shows how many contacts are Enrolled, how many are Active contacts, and how many Meetings booked the campaign has produced.

🔄 Create or duplicate a campaign

  • To start fresh, select Create campaign, give it a Name, and choose its Visibility: Workspace (everyone can see and use it) or Personal (only you). Workspace campaigns need the Sales Admin role.

  • To build on an existing one, open the three-dot menu on any campaign and select Duplicate campaign, then adapt it. You can also Delete campaign for ones you no longer need.

✍️ Edit a message

Open a step to edit its template. Each message has a name, a short description, a Visibility (Workspace or Personal), and a Prompt that tells uman how to write it.

💡 Good to know: test before you use it

Once a message is ready, you can preview it on a real contact before it goes anywhere. Pick a contact under Test on and select Generate to see exactly what uman would write. It is a safe preview, so you can keep refining the prompt until the result fits.

For how contacts move through outreach once they are enrolled in a campaign, see Outreach & campaigns.
