This release changes how uman handles the meetings where most deals are won: the ones with more than one company in the room and more than one deal on the table.
Each change below is explained the way you'll meet it in your week:
The situation you'll recognise
Before: what happened until now
What's new: where to click, with numbered screenshots
What it means for you and your deals
š” Your words may differ. uman uses the words of your CRM. With HubSpot you'll see companies and deals; with Zoho, accounts and deals; with Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP Sales Cloud or Odoo, accounts and opportunities. The screenshots show HubSpot's words, and the steps name both versions of each button.
š¤ Prepare for everyone in the room, and update every deal or opportunity from one place
The situation
You have a discovery call with Siemens next week. Their implementation partner, Sony, joins the call, and you already have a pilot deal (or opportunity) open with Siemens in your CRM.
Before the call, you want to know both companies.
After the call, you want the pilot deal and both companies up to date in your CRM.
Before
A meeting belonged to one company (or account) and at most one deal.
Your preparation only covered Siemens, so you researched Sony yourself.
Your note and CRM update went to that one record. Anything about the partner or a second deal had to be retyped in your CRM.
Watch it in 30 seconds
The meeting with both companies, adding a deal from your CRM, and choosing where a note goes:
What's new: before the meeting
Open the meeting from Sales meetings. Its preparation (meeting brief, objectives, key questions, value propositions and earlier meetings) now covers all of the meeting's companies together. On the Preparation tab:
Companies (or Accounts) lists every outside company in the meeting, each with its own key insights. uman links them from the people on the invite. To add or remove one, click Edit at the top of the meeting.
Running deals (or Running opportunities) shows the CRM deals linked to this meeting, with their current stage straight from your CRM.
Create or link a deal (or Create or link an opportunity) adds another one. After the meeting, add one under Update deals on the Follow-up tab.
What's new: adding a deal
Click Add deal (or Add opportunity) and choose:
Link to existing deal (or Link to existing opportunity) searches the ones already in your CRM.
Create new deal (or Create new opportunity) creates it in your CRM, with a name, pipeline, stage and company, and links it to the meeting in one go.
Each deal shows its stage from your CRM, so you pick the right one.
What's new: your notes go where they belong
Click Add notes and decide where the note goes:
Write or dictate the note as before.
Under Deals, tick the deals it belongs to. The note is sent to them in your CRM.
Under Companies, tick the companies it belongs to. A company marked Only in uman isn't linked to your CRM yet, so the note stays in uman for it.
What's new: after the meeting
On the Follow-up tab:
Push note to your CRM sends the meeting note to every deal and company you select, in one click. If it fails for some records, uman tells you which ones so you can push again.
Update deals (or Update opportunities) changes the stage and fields of each linked deal on its own. Only the fields you change are sent to your CRM.
Each deal shows what you sent from this meeting, and whether someone has changed it in your CRM since.
What it means for you
You walk into a multi-company meeting prepared for everyone in the room, not just the company on the invite.
Every deal the meeting touched is updated from one place, without an evening of retyping.
Your CRM, and your manager's pipeline view, reflect what actually happened in the call.
ā¹ļø Good to know. To push notes and update deals, connect your own CRM account first. uman asks you to when you open those sections.
š Deals and opportunities now come from your CRM
Before
You could create, rename and close deals inside uman.
Over time they drifted away from your CRM: a different name, a stage nobody updated, a deal that only existed in uman.
What's new
Every deal in uman is a deal in your CRM. On the Deals (or Opportunities) page:
Stage shows each deal's stage exactly as it is in your CRM. This column used to be "Status".
The CRM icon opens the deal in your CRM.
What it means for you
There is one version of every deal.
The name and stage you see in uman are the ones your manager sees in the CRM, so forecasts and pipeline reviews start from the same numbers.
ā¹ļø What's gone. You can no longer create, rename, close as won or lost, reopen or delete a deal in uman: do that in your CRM, or with Update deals (or Update opportunities) after a meeting.
Also changed
The Deals (or Opportunities) page only appears when your workspace has a CRM connected.
Deals that only existed in uman, without a deal in your CRM, have been removed. Their notes are now on the company (or account).
Meeting preparation no longer shows sentiment, the deal timeline, the deal or account history, or the deal qualification score.
There is no longer a separate "customer meeting" and "deal meeting".
š„ The meeting assistant joins Zoom and Webex calls
The situation
Your customer sends a Zoom invite.
Until now, that meant no meeting assistant on the call.
No transcript, no summary and no follow-up written for you: just your own notes.
Before
The assistant joined Google Meet and Microsoft Teams calls only.
What's new
Paste a Zoom or Webex link when you edit a meeting, or let uman pick it up from your calendar invite.
The join button shows the right logo (1), and the assistant joins the call the same way it joins Google Meet and Teams.
uman picks the right link from your calendar more reliably: the meeting's own link before one pasted in the description, and a meeting link before a personal room.
What it means for you
Your notes and follow-up no longer depend on which video tool your customer picked.
Every call can end with a summary and a follow-up draft ready to send.
ā¹ļø Good to know. If your workspace has the assistant join automatically, it now also joins Zoom and Webex meetings from your calendar, and your guests get the usual heads-up email for those meetings too. In some workspaces the assistant still joins Google Meet and Teams only: the assistant switch is then greyed out and tells you why.
⨠More improvements
Delete a running outreach from its detail page, not only a scheduled one. Emails already sent stay sent.
"Last used" on the login screen shows whether you signed in with Google or Microsoft last time.
Archived meetings are read-only. Unarchive one under Actions to work on it again.
Exports (sales admins): the meetings export lists all of a meeting's companies; the deals export gains a Stage column.
Presentations removed: collecting slides into your own presentations, and the Popular slides view, are gone.
š§ Fixed
Your team's offerings stay in your prep, even when another team excluded them.
Completed overdue tasks no longer jump to "Later" before they disappear.
Connecting apps in Safari no longer ends with an error.
Uploaded files on a portfolio item show under key content while they process.
