How to add new cases

Updated over a week ago

Setting up cases in Uman ensures your sales teams always have structured, relevant information at their fingertips — making it easier to share real-world examples, demonstrate value, and close deals faster.

First of all, navigate to the Portfolio module by clicking on the portfolio icon and go to 'Cases':

Adding cases

In this view, you have the possibility to add a new case by clicking on 'Add case'.

If you click on the button 'Add case', the following screen will open:

1️⃣ Fill in the key details of the case:

  • Case name: choose a clear, meaningful name.

  • Organisation: specify the customer or company the case is about

  • Confidentiality type: define whether the case is publicly shareable or restricted.

    • External: An insight marked as external can be used in outbound sales conversations. These insights may be included in suggested messages generated by uman’s Business Development module to help start conversations with prospects.
They can include references to real customer cases, as long as the information is public or approved for external sharing.

    • Internal: An insight marked as internal will not include customer names or personal details in any outbound messaging.
The insight itself can still be used to support AI-generated suggestions, but it will not be directly linked to the original customer case — ensuring confidentiality is maintained.

  • if needed, the custom case ID

2️⃣ Select the case owner. Assign owners who can manage content and maintain accuracy.

3️⃣ Provide an URL, documents or additional notes to describe the case.

4️⃣ Related offerings: link offerings related to your case/reference.

Click the ‘Save & Finish’ button. If you haven’t added all the required information yet, you’ll still have the option to complete your case later.

🏷️ Adding labels to your portfolio

In the overview screen, you will find the 'manage labels' option where you can create label types.

Labels are simple, descriptive tags you can attach to pieces of content in your portfolio. They help you organize, filter and find content quickly, making your portfolio easier to manage and use.

What should be in a case?

Each case should include key details that help sales teams demonstrate real-world impact.

Value & Impact Delivered – What measurable outcomes were achieved?

Problem Statement – The challenge or situation faced by the customer.

Services Delivered – What solutions were provided?

Methodology & Timeline – How was the project executed?

🔹 Tip: The more specific and tailored the input, the more impactful and relevant the output will be! 🚀
